Daegu International Art Fair 'ART DAEGU 2010'

I sincerely congratulate ART DAEGU 2010, which is held in Daegu, the city of art in the season of renewal.
ART DAEGU, held for the forth time this year, is an international art fair where the most highly accomplished artists and well known galleries gather from around the world from countries such as Japan, China, France, the United States, and Korea.
Daegu, as the birthplace of many great artists, has played a pivotal role in the history of modern and contemporary art. All of the six universities have art colleges and thousands of artists are represented in the Daegu Fine Artists Association and the Daegu Contemporary Artists Association. In addition, there are more than 100 exhibition halls in the city. Artwork collectors and enthusiasts are steadily increasing.
It is quite a meaningful event when an art market opens to the public for the appreciation and purchase of artworks and I am very pleased that our foundation sponsors this event.
The civilian led ART DAEGU 2010 hopefully keeps growing not only as a representative art event in Daegu, the city of art and culture, but as a dream stage for artists.

제4회 대구국제아트페어 ART DAEGU 2010

싱그러운 계절을 맞아 ‘아트대구 2010’이 미술의 도시인 대구에서 열리게 된 것을 진심을 축하드립니다.

올해 네 번째로 열리는 ‘아트대구’는 한국 최고의 작가 뿐 아니라 일본과 영국, 프랑스, 미국 등 세계의 작가들과

갤러리가 참여하는 국제 아트페어입니다.


훌륭한 작가들을 많이 배출한 대구는 근.현대 미술사에서 핵심적인 역할을 해왔습니다. 6개 종합대에 모두 미술

대학이 있고, 대구미협과 대구현대미술가협회에서는 수천명의 작가들이 활동을 하고 있으며, 100여개가 넘는 풍

부한 전시공간을 가지고 있는 도시입니다. 미술품 전문콜렉터와 미술애호가들도 꾸준히 증가하고 있습니다.


이러한 때 미술작품을 감상하고, 구입도 할 수 있는 아트마켓이 열린다는 것은 큰 의미가 있는 일이며, 이 행사

에 저희 문화재단이 후원하게 된 것을 기쁘게 생각합니다.

민간주도의 ‘아트대구 2010’가 문화예술 중심도시 대구의 대표 미술행사로 또 미술가들의 꿈의 무대로 성장하기

를 바랍 니다.
